Dave Baker PlayingDave Baker of DAB Music teaches all styles of guitar, but Classical guitar is his specialty. He also teaches Latin, Jazz, Rock and Blues.

His lessons range from advanced to beginning players at his studio in Lafayette Hill, PA.

Dave's method is designed to teach the prerequisites to achieve the student's desired level of playing. This is based on a full understanding of chord structure and alternate positions, scales and arpeggios. These are the necessary tools needed to succeed in any style of playing.

Dave studied music and theory at Temple University, and studied Guitar with the late Denis Sandole (a mentor to such greats as George Benson and Pat Martino). Dave studied arrangement and composition with the late pianist/composer Frank Caruso.

He was the guitarist for "Sweet Rest" which toured the area with" Hall and Oates", lead guitarist for rock/jazz fusion band "High Treason", with a successful recording on Atlantic Records in 1971 and lead guitarist with "The Dave Baker Sextet", a jazz band that was a regular performing group on Philadelphia's jazz radio "WRTI Friday's" live evening show from 1976 to 1978. In the eighties, Dave wrote, arranged and played in the 18 piece big band "Northeast Extension".

Currently, Dave performs over 100 times/year at corporate events, wedding ceremonies, cocktail hours, rehearsal dinners and private affairs. His label, DAB Music, has released 5 CD's since 1995 receiving both crtical acclaim and international airplay.

Please call or email Dave for a Free half hour lesson. It is important to see if there is a good teacher-student fit.
